As of May 2006, the major Taiwan-based large-size TFT LCD industry players are AU Optronics (AUO), Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO), Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT), Quanta Display (QDI) and HannStar Display. Innolux Display, which has a 4.5-generation (4.5G) and a 5G plant, is not as aggressive as its local competitors in moving in to more advanced LCD production, while Prime View International (PVI) tends to focus on niche markets.
