Optical disc drive (ODD) shipments from Taiwan-based companies dropped 6.3% to 103.5 million units in 2005, during which worldwide ODD shipments grew 9.2%. As a result, Taiwan's worldwide market share dropped below 40% in 2005 from 44.8% in 2004.
