China Mobile invites Taiwan businesses to attend TDD 4G Forum in Shanghai

Chairman Wang Jianzhou for China Mobile has invited top-level executives of Taiwan-based enterprises in Taiwan's WiMAX industry to attend the TDD (time division duplexing) 4G Forum scheduled for October 20 in Shanghai, according to industry sources.
Quanta Computer chairman Barry Lam, MediaTek chairman and CEO Tsai Ming-kai and HTC chairwoman Cher Wang will attend the forum, the sources indicated. Networking/communication equipment makers D-Link, Accton Technology, ZyXEL Communications, Microelectronics Technology, Gemtek Technology as well as mobile telecom carriers Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan Mobile, Far EasTone Telecommunications, Vibo Telecom and WiMAX operators Vmax Telecom and Tatung InfoComm will have representatives attend the forum.
China Mobile hopes to learn from Taiwan's WiMAX supply chain to develop TD-LTE and seek possible cooperation, the sources said.
